As part of the 2019 SEATTLE GULLAH GEECHEE FESTIVAL we're celebrating and honoring our grandparents with games, karaoke, live performances, music, food, and a screening of the movie MOANA!

The annual Seattle Gullah Geechee Festival - Call and Response - is a series of Race & Social Justice events and activities, as it calls to the inner spirit of a people perceived as "Lesser" and often despised relative to their indigenous way of life, to embrace their heritage and recognize their contributions and connections on a global scale. The events are geared to entertain, educate and uplift our community.

The festival includes a diverse set of activities throughout the year including, Youth African Culture Reconnection Classes, Emancipation Day Celebration, Poetry Readings, Gullah Geechee Folktale readings, Genealogy Weekend, and more!
